At Bishopstrow College we aim to create a safe, warm and fun learning environment where we will prepare students for a seamless and happy transition to a British boarding school. We aim for students to leave Bishopstrow not only able to be comfortable in a classroom with native speakers but being able to compete academically at all levels in their next school.
We aim to provide the foundations for independent learners who develop a passion for life and learning, encourage them to set themselves high standards and so fulfil their potential, and grow in self-esteem and confidence.
We aim to create an atmosphere of respect and tolerance for others, irrespective of cultural differences, by promoting fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
Every student is an individual and will be treated as such, but it is also important for them to develop resilience and to work as a team player in and out of the classroom.
The ‘Bishopstrow classroom’ operates in every environment and every day of the week, but always in English.
Bishopstrow College has five core values that are at the centre of everything the students do. These core
- To be hard working

- To be kind
- To be polite
- To be organised

The College maintains Teaching Partnerships, validated by UKVI, with more than 80 schools. Under these Teaching Partnerships, students with a confirmed offer of a place at a partner school can attend a pre-sessional programme at Bishopstrow College, where the partner school issues the CAS and Tier 4 (Child) visa, covering the programme at Bishopstrow. In some cases, the pre-sessional programme is embedded within the overall admissions and enrolment process of the partner school.
